Notes:

There have been reports of the Devastator getting multiple shots per battery (similar to chainsaw, mark ii), with this screenshot provided: http://gyazo.com/2d6261879909ba7177b869a00251c6bc. The screenshot seems to indicate that the battery (if not used up) ends up either back in the inventory or automatically reloaded, as is does not drop or need picking up between shots. In a previous town we built the devastator. I used it several times (probably around 7 times at least) and each time the battery depleted. Has it been changed again? Cool4345 06:49, 10 June 2012 (PDT)

There's a 50% chance of the battery dying, and considering how my Devastators were all prone to unlucky streaks, I say more testing is needed. -- Nickyh 01:38, 11 June 2012 (PDT)
