Season 18

From MHWiki

Season 18: Reset in Hell started on April 19, 2025. The following new content and balance changes were announced:

After sweating and killing a few zombies, we're happy to offer you this update

Pande-mania[edit]

Some players were eagerly awaiting it, while others may not have seen it coming. But the time has come, we are diving into an exciting, long-term project to overhaul Hardcore towns!

  • A redesign of the construction site tree has been implemented: Do you remember the ancient towns? That's kind of the idea, but in our own way: a REDUCED list of construction sites are directly available, but with a higher cost than the basic one. Reading the blueprints for these construction sites will reduce their construction costs.
  • The rarity of some construction sites has been changed only in Hardcore towns.
  • The amount of ruins in Hardcore towns has been increased.

A little dose of S.U.P.E.R.?[edit]

Following your feedback, we've decided to revamp several aspects of S.U.P.E.R. to make it even more so:

  • The reset of unlocked skills and the associated loss of experience will be gone for good! From now on, you will no longer lose anything when seasons change, and the manual reset mechanic during the season has been replaced by a Power point "purchase".
  • Power point?? Oh yes, some terms have been changed to be more consistent and clearer.
  • Many challenges have been added to diversify Heroic XP gains.
  • The cost of Master skills has been increased from 75 to 80 XP.
  • You can now see your S.U.P.E.R. chosen directly from your soul and through carefully placed shortcuts.
  • Brothers in Arms charges no longer expire and are now permanent. In addition to granting one of your Heroic abilities at your level, you also have a second possible choice: you can use 5 of your XP so that the recipient gains 10.
  • The items given by the Cello Case have been completely refined, and are better suited for a Master skill.
  • The gains provided by "Second Wind" have been modified, and also its description now includes exact values for the number of and you receive.
  • The Help pages have been updated to reflect all the above changes.

Planks here, scrap metal there...[edit]

Several things have been revised for various constructions sites:

  • A new item has appeared in the Workshop, it's up to you to discover it... But I'm sure it will be useful.
  • The cost of transformations at the Technician's Workbench have been reduced by 1 , and now have a new use: special crafting recipes.
  • The Tamers' Clinic Center has been modified: it is now dependent on the Butcher, and it can sometimes fail, especially after dozens of uses. But I'm sure you'll find a use for it anyway.
  • The Survivalists' Nature Area has had its rewards modified and its construction cost increased. Its description has also changed, but no one would have noticed...
  • The Apple Tree of the World-Beyond now produces blue apples, and sometimes red apples. Mother nature has been acting strange lately...
  • The Catapult's functionality has been upated: its operator must now be voted on, and not catapulted.
  • The cost of using the Scout's Lair is now 1 for all.
  • The estimates given by the Watchtower are now more accurate and can no longer exceed the attack. Yes, sometimes you should wear glasses.
  • The water purification gains with the Filter and Purifier have been modified, as has purification with a Micropur, which can now be used in the World-Beyond in the absence of water purification sites.

The game is on the forum[edit]

After all, it's all well and good talking about new features, but we had to think about improving our forums:

  • The Spoiler and RolePlay tags now use the old Hordes designs.
  • Many more smiley choices are possible, with the ability to include many item emoticons.
middot: The "collapsible" forum tag has been upgraded and now allows you to create a collapsed or visible section depending on the reader's language.
  • Two new topic tags are possible: "Game" and "Blabla".
  • It is now possible to filter all threads in a forum based on their tag.
  • Some improvements have been made to player quote tags.

Fluidity, of course![edit]

Several technical aspects of the site have been improved, including the following:

  • Complete internal overhaul of the inventory system: reduced loading times, particularly at the bank. Dropping off/picking up items is now faster and is better managed by the various game pages.
  • Redesigned actions list: it is no longer updated with each action and is cached, unlike before. Loading it should be faster.
  • Reworked construction site list and page: faster loading times on all town pages.
  • Redesigned town selection: despite significantly faster loading times, the main visual change is the display of a new confirmation screen when selecting a town.
  • Clicking on a construction site recommendation now scrolls the page to it.

And the little things[edit]

  • The zombie overflow/lazy zombie system has changed. The maximum amount of attacking zombies now scales with the general attack strength, so it's exponential instead of linear. I guess these zombies didn't skip leg day!
  • Various texts related to the Survivalist have been modified to limit its... repulsive appearance.
  • Bank searches now ignore accents, umlauts, and other character modifiers in item names.
  • The forum title now appears in the website page title.
  • Watchers who died during the same night due to a mortal status no longer provide their base defense in the watch. Even after death, they were useful.
  • Assembling Defense Object no longer expands your chest inventory: items will be donated to the Bank if you run out of space.
  • The game has now its own Server Status page, available at the the bottom of the website.
  • We have changed our mail server: now emails sent by the game should be sent correctly, even on Microsoft services.
